Wireless USB is a standard developed by the USB-IF. The USB-IF is the same organization that standardized the way wired USB devices work. They have now extended the capability to enable USB connections to be wireless. It uses a radio technology called ultrawideband (UWB). UWB is known for its applicability for higher bandwidth applications such as Wireless USB for Personal Area Networks (PANs).
